Almagest is a non-profit academic association for early-career scholars in the history, sociology, and philosophy of science and technology, based in Belgrade, Serbia. Our full name is Almagest – Society of Early-Career Scholars for History, Sociology and Philosophy of Science and Technology. We bring together doctoral students and young researchers dedicated to these fields.

Our name: Almagest explained
The name "Almagest" is derived from the classical astronomical treatise by Ptolemy. It symbolizes our commitment to foundational knowledge, rigorous inquiry, and the enduring legacy of scientific and philosophical thought. This name reflects our dedication to exploring the depths of science and technology's past, present, and future implications.

Our mission is to support and connect doctoral students and young researchers. We encourage collaboration, foster knowledge exchange, and organize a variety of scientific and public programs.
